✧ Virtue of visiting the sick

قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ جَمِيعًا: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسٌ أَبُو عُمَارَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

« مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا لَا يَزَالُ يَخُوضُ فِي الرَّحْمَةِ، حَتَّى إِذَا قَعَدَ اسْتَنْقَعَ فِيهَا ». زَادَ عَبْدٌ: « ثُمَّ إِذَا رَجَعَ لَا يَزَالُ يَخُوضُ فِيهَا حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ مِنْ حَيْثُ جَاءَ

✧ “Whoever visits a sick person continues to wade in mercy until, when he sits down, he is immersed in it.” 'Abd added: “Then, when he returns, he continues to wade in it until he comes back to where he started.”
