✧ When Ibn Abbas ؓ was asked about something, if it was in the Book of Allah, the Exalted, he would speak according to it. If it was not in the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and there was something from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would relate it. And if it was not in the Book of Allah nor in the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and there was something from Abu Bakr and Umar ؓ, he would adopt it. If there was nothing from them, he would exercise his own judgment.
