قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ كُلَيْبٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:
أَتَيْنَا عُمَرَ ؓ، وَهُوَ فِي فُسْطَاطِهِ فَنَادَيْتُ: أَنَا فُلَانُ ابْنُ فُلَانٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ، وَإِنَّ ابْنَ أُخْتٍ لَنَا عَانٍ فِي سَبْيِ فُلَانٍ، وَقَدْ عَرَضْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَضِيَّةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَكُنَّا نَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَّ الْقَضِيَّةَ أَرْبَعٌ
Translation

✧ We came to Umar ؓ while he was in his tent, and I called out: "I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so, al-Jarmi. A nephew of ours is a captive among the captives of so-and-so, and I presented to them the ruling of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We used to say that the ruling is four."
