✧ I met him and spoke with him. I said: O Prophet of Allah, what about silver found near an inhabited village or a frequented road? He ﷺ said: Announce it for a year. If its owner comes, give it to him. Otherwise, preserve its container, its tie, and its count, then make use of it. I said: O Messenger of Allah, what about silver found in ancient land? He said: On it and on buried treasure is one fifth. I said: O Messenger of Allah, what about a sheep found in a desert land? He said: Eat it, for it is for you or for your brother or for the wolf. I said: O Prophet of Allah, what about a camel, male or female, found in a desert land with its saddlebag and waterskin on it? He said: Leave it; what do you have to do with it?
