حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الشَّعْثَاءِ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ مَوْلَى قَرَظَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَقَالَ «مَا أَنْتُمْ جُزْءٌ مِنْ مِائَةِ أَلْفِ جُزْءٍ مِمَّنْ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» قَالُوا لِزَيْدٍ كَمْ أَنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ «مَا بَيْنَ الثَّمَانِ مِائَةٍ إِلَى السَّبْعِمِائَةٍ»

✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ on a journey during a military expedition, and he said, "You are not one part out of a hundred thousand parts of those who will come to me at the Pond on the Day of Resurrection." They said to Zayd, "How many were you that day?" He said, "Between eight hundred and seven hundred."
