What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationIts chain of transmission is good (jayyid).

  • Badr al-Dīn al-ʿAynī

machine translationAt the very least, its status is that it is good (ḥasan), so it is valid to use it as evidence.

  • Bazzār

machine translationWe do not know anyone who transmitted it with a better chain than this one, and we do not know anyone who said "from Abū Bakrah" except al-Ḥurr b. Mālik, who was acceptable (lā ba'sa bihi). I think he made a mistake in this hadith, because people narrate it from al-Ḥasan as a mursal report.

  • Bazzār

machine translationAl-Ḥurr b. Mālik was alone in narrating it, while people narrate it as a mursal report.
