✧ Uyaynah and al-Aqra' asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for something, so he ordered Mu'awiyah to write it for them. He did so and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sealed it and ordered him to give it to them. As for Uyaynah, he said, 'What is in it?' He said, 'In it is what I was ordered.' So he accepted it and tied it in his turban. As for al-Aqra', he said, 'I carry a document I do not know what is in it, like the document of al-Mutalammis?' Mu'awiyah informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ of their words. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out for his need and passed by a camel kneeling at the door of the mosque from the beginning of the day. Then he passed by it at the end of the day and it was in the same state. He said, 'Where is the owner of this camel?' It was sought but not found. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Fear Allah regarding these animals. Ride them while they are healthy and eat them while they are fat, like one who was displeased just now. Whoever asks while he has what suffices him is only increasing in the coals of Hell.' He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what suffices him?' He said, 'That which gives him his morning and evening meals.'
