Then the year 372 AH began
ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ فَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا: أَنَّهُ [ وَرَدَ ] فِي يَوْمِ الْخَمِيسِ ثَامِنَ عَشَرَ الْمُحَرَّمِ فَتْحُ الْمَاءِ الَّذِي اسْتَخْرَجَهُ عَضُدُ الدَّوْلَةِ مِنْ نَهْرِ الْخَالِصِ إِلَى دَارِهِ ، وَبُسْتَانِ الزَّاهِرِ. وَفِي يَوْمِ الْخَمِيسِ لِثَلَاثٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ صَفَرَ، وَقِيلَ: بَلْ لِلَيْلَةٍ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَبِيعٍ الْآخَرَ: فُتِحَ الْمَارِسْتَانُ الَّذِي أَنْشَأَهُ عَضُدُ الدَّوْلَةِ فِي الْجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ السَّلَامِ، وَرُتِّبَ فِيهِ الْأَطِبَّاءُ، وَالْمُعَالِجُونَ، وَالْخُزَّانُ، وَالْبَوَّابُونَ، وَالْوُكَلَاءُ، وَالنَّاظِرُونَ، وَنُقِلَتْ إِلَيْهِ الْأَدْوِيَةُ، وَالْأَشْرِبَةُ، وَالْفُرُشُ، وَالْآلَاتُ. وَفِي يَوْمِ الِاثْنَيْنِ لِعَشْرٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ: قُلِّدَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي تَمَّامٍ الزَّيْنَبِيُّ نِقَابَةَ الْعَبَّاسِيِّينَ، وَالْقَضَاءَ بِالْحَضْرَةِ، وَخُلِعَ عَلَيْهِ. وَفِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ: خُلِعَ عَلَى أَبِي مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْفَتْحِ الْعَلَوِيِّ لِلْخُرُوجِ بِالْحَاجِّ.
Translation
✧ Then the year 372 AH began. Among the events in it: On Thursday, the eighteenth of al-Muḥarram, the water that ʿAḍud al-Dawlah had extracted from the Khāliṣ Canal to his residence and the garden of al-Zāhir was opened. On Thursday, three days remaining in Ṣafar, though it was said: rather on the night preceding the first of Rabīʿ al-Ākhir, the hospital that ʿAḍud al-Dawlah had established on the western side of Madīnat al-Salām was opened. Physicians, attendants, keepers, doorkeepers, agents, and supervisors were appointed to it, and medicines, beverages, furnishings, and instruments were transferred to it. On Monday, ten days remaining in Dhū al-Ḥijjah, Abū al-Qāsim ʿAlī b. Abī Tammām al-Zaynabī was invested with the office of nuqābat al-ʿAbbāsiyyīn and the judgeship of the capital, and he was given a robe of honor. In this month, Abū Manṣūr b. al-Fatḥ al-ʿAlawī was given a robe of honor for departing with the pilgrims.
