✧ Mention of ʿAḍud al-Dawlah’s seizure of the fortress of Sandah and other places In this year ʿAḍud al-Dawlah took control of the fortresses of Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Murrī in the mountainous districts. His residence was at Sandah, where he had exquisite dwellings, and he was of ancient lineage. He seized him and his sons and imprisoned them, and they remained thus until al-Ṣāḥib b. ʿAbbād released them afterward; he employed his son Abū Ṭāhir in his service and made him his secretary, for he had fine handwriting and eloquence.
