Then the year 370 AH began
ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ سَبْعِينَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ ذِكْرُ إِقْطَاعِ مُؤَيَّدِ الدَّوْلَةِ هَمَذَانَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ أَرْسَلَ الصَّاحِبُ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ إِلَى عَضُدِ الدَّوْلَةِ بِهَمَذَانَ رَسُولًا مِنْ عِنْدِ أَخِيهِ مُؤَيَّدِ الدَّوْلَةِ يَبْذُلُ لَهُ الطَّاعَةَ وَالْمُوَافَقَةَ، فَالْتَقَاهُ عَضُدُ الدَّوْلَةِ بِنَفْسِهِ، وَأَكْرَمَهُ، وَأَقْطَعُ أَخَاهُ مُؤَيَّدَ الدَّوْلَةِ هَمَذَانَ وَغَيْرَهَا، وَأَقَامَ عِنْدَ عَضُدِ الدَّوْلَةِ إِلَى أَنْ عَادَ إِلَى بَغْدَاذَ، فَرَدَّهُ إِلَى مُؤَيَّدِ الدَّوْلَةِ، فَأَقْطَعَهُ إِقْطَاعًا كَثِيرًا، وَسَيَّرَ مَعَهُ عَسْكَرًا يَكُونُ عِنْدَ مُؤَيَّدِ الدَّوْلَةِ فِي خِدْمَتِهِ.
Translation
✧ Then the year 370 AH began. Mention of Muʾayyid al-Dawlah’s grant of Hamadhān [as an iqṭāʿ] In this year, al-Ṣāḥib Abū al-Qāsim Ismāʿīl b. ʿAbbād sent a messenger from his brother Muʾayyid al-Dawlah to ʿAḍud al-Dawlah at Hamadhān, offering him obedience and concord. ʿAḍud al-Dawlah met him in person, honoured him, and granted his brother Muʾayyid al-Dawlah Hamadhān and other places. He remained with ʿAḍud al-Dawlah until he returned to Baghdādh, then he sent him back to Muʾayyid al-Dawlah, granted him a large iqṭāʿ, and dispatched with him an army to be with Muʾayyid al-Dawlah in his service.
