Then the year 369 AH began
ذِكْرُ مُلْكِ عَضُدِ الدَّوْلَةِ بَلَدَ الْهَكَّارِيَّةِ ( وَمَا مَعَهَا ) فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ سَيَّرَ عَضُدُ الدَّوْلَةِ جَيْشًا إِلَى الْأَكْرَادِ الْهَكَّارِيَّةِ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ الْمَوْصِلِ، فَأَوْقَعَ بِهِمْ وَحَصَرَ قِلَاعَهُمْ، وَطَالَ مُقَامُ الْجُنْدِ فِي حَصْرِهَا. وَكَانَ مَنْ بِالْحُصُونِ مِنَ الْأَكْرَادِ يَنْتَظِرُونَ نُزُولَ الثَّلْجِ لِتَرْحَلَ الْعَسَاكِرُ عَنْهُمْ، فَقَدَّرَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَنَّ الثَّلْجَ تَأَخَّرَ نُزُولُهُ ( فِي تِلْكَ السَّنَةِ )، فَأَرْسَلُوا يَطْلُبُونَ الْأَمَانَ، فَأُجِيبُوا إِلَى ذَلِكَ، وَسَلَّمُوا قِلَاعَهُمْ، وَنَزَلُوا مَعَ الْعَسْكَرِ إِلَى الْمَوْصِلِ، فَلَمْ يُفَارِقُوا أَعْمَالَهُمْ غَيْرَ يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ حَتَّى نَزَلَ الثَّلْجُ. ثُمَّ إِنَّ مُقَدَّمَ الْجَيْشِ غَدَرَ بِهِمْ، وَصَلَبَهُمْ عَلَى جَانِبَيِ الطَّرِيقِ مِنْ مَعْلَثَايَا إِلَى الْمَوْصِلِ ( نَحْوَ خَمْسَةِ فَرَاسِخَ ) وَكَفَّ اللَّهُ شَرَّهُمْ عَنِ النَّاسِ.
Translation
✧ Account of ʿAḍud al-Dawlah's taking possession of the land of the Hakkāriyyah (and what accompanies it) In this year, ʿAḍud al-Dawlah dispatched an army against the Hakkārī Kurds of the districts of al-Mawṣil. He fell upon them and besieged their fortresses, and the troops' stay in the siege became prolonged. The Kurds who were in the fortresses were waiting for the snow to fall so that the armies would depart from them. But God Almighty decreed that the snow's falling was delayed in that year. So they sent to request safe-conduct, and they were granted that. They surrendered their fortresses and went down with the army to al-Mawṣil. They had not left their districts for more than a single day when the snow fell. Then the commander of the army betrayed them and crucified them on both sides of the road from Maʿlathāyā to al-Mawṣil, about five parasangs, and God restrained their evil from the people.
