Translation
✧ A letter arrived from Abū Aḥmad al-Ḥusayn b. Mūsā, the naqīb of the Ṭālibiyyīn, from Makkah, [stating] that the ḥajj of the year 359 was completed, that no one from the direction of the Maghrib had arrived, that the khuṭbah was delivered for al-Muṭīʿ li-llāh and for the Hajarīs after him, that he hung the lamps he had brought with him outside the House—one of them was gold weighing six hundred mithqāls and the rest were silver—for a period of five days until the people saw them, then they were brought into the House, and that the new banners he had brought with him, bearing the name of the Caliph, were erected.
