Then the Year 314 AH Began
مَسِيرِ ابْنِ أَبِي السَّاجِ إِلَى وَاسِطَ وَفِي سَنَةُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ قَلَّدَ الْمُقْتَدِرُ يُوسُفَ بْنَ أَبِي السَّاجِ نَوَاحِيَ الْمَشْرِقِ، ( وَأَذِنَ لَهُ ) فِي أَخْذِ أَمْوَالِهَا وَصَرْفِهَا إِلَى قُوَّادِهِ وَأَجْنَادِهِ، وَأَمَرَهُ بِالْقُدُومِ إِلَى بَغْدَاذَ مِنْ أَذْرَبِيجَانَ، وَالْمَسِيرِ إِلَى وَاسِطَ، لِيَسِيرَ إِلَى هَجَرَ لِمُحَارَبَةِ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ الْقَرْمَطِيِّ، فَسَارَ إِلَى وَاسِطَ، وَكَانَ بِهَا مُؤْنِسٌ الْمُظَفَّرُ، فَلَمَّا قَارَبَهَا يُوسُفُ صَعِدَ مُؤْنِسٌ إِلَى بَغْدَاذَ لِيُقِيمَ بِهَا، وَجَعَلَ لَهُ أَمْوَالَ الْخَرَاجِ بِنُوَاحِي هَمَذَانَ، وَسَاوَةَ، وَقُمَّ، وَقَاشَانَ، وَمَاهَ الْبَصْرَةِ، وَمَاهَ الْكُوفَةِ، وَمَاسَبَذَانَ، لِيُنْفِقَهَا عَلَى مَائِدَتِهِ، وَيَسْتَعِينَ بِذَلِكَ عَلَى مُحَارَبَةِ الْقَرَامِطَةِ، وَكَانَ هَذَا كُلُّهُ مِنْ تَدْبِيرِ الْخَصِيبِيِّ.
Translation
✧ The march of Ibn Abī al-Sāj to Wāsiṭ In the year 314 AH, al-Muqtadir appointed Yūsuf b. Abī al-Sāj over the regions of the East, and permitted him to take their revenues and disburse them to his commanders and soldiers. He ordered him to come to Baghdād from Azerbaijan and then march to Wāsiṭ, so as to proceed to Hajar to fight Abū Ṭāhir al-Qarmaṭī. He marched to Wāsiṭ, where Muʾnis al-Muẓaffar was. When Yūsuf approached it, Muʾnis went up to Baghdād to reside there. He assigned to him the kharāj revenues of the districts of Hamadhān, Sāwah, Qumm, Qāshān, Māh al-Baṣrah, Māh al-Kūfah, and Māsabadhān, to spend on his table and to use as support in fighting the Qarāmiṭah. All this was from the management of al-Khaṣībī.
