Chapter mentioning the offspring of Abraham (peace and blessings be upon him)
Translation
✧ Joseph remained in the well for three days, and God sent an angel who loosened his bonds. Then a caravan came and they sent their water-drawer, who is the one who goes ahead to the water. He let down his bucket into the well, and Joseph clung to it, so he brought him out of the well. He said: "Good news! This is a boy" [12:19]. His brothers said: "This is a runaway slave of ours." They bought him from them for twenty dirhams. Then they sold him in Egypt, and Qiṭfīr bought him; he was in charge of the treasuries of Egypt. The Pharaoh of Egypt at that time was al-Rayyān b. al-Walīd, one of the descendants of Shem son of Noah. It is said that this king did not die until he believed in Joseph, then he died while Joseph was still alive. Then Qābūs b. Muṣʿab ruled after him, and Joseph called him to Islam, but he refused.
