Translation
✧ Mention of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ march to Banu Qurayzah Muhammad b. 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to them with seven nights remaining of Dhu al-Qa'dah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wore the weapons, the breastplate, the helmet, and the head-protector, took a spear in his hand, slung the shield, and rode his horse al-Luhayf. His companions surrounded him, having worn weapons and ridden horses. The horses were thirty-six. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ marched among his companions, with horses and foot soldiers around him. Ibn Sa'd said: With him ﷺ were three thousand. I say: Thus Muhammad b. 'Umar mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rode a horse. And on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Banu Qurayzah, he rode a bare donkey called Ya'fur, with people around him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew near. We shielded him, and he called at the top of his voice to a group of their nobles, until he made them hear, saying: "Answer, O brothers of apes and pigs and worshippers of the tyrant! Has Allah disgraced you and brought down His vengeance upon you? Do you insult me?!" They began swearing: "We did not do it," and saying: "O Abu al-Qasim, you were not ignorant." In another wording: "You were not obscene." The Muslims gathered before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at night, and Sa'd b. 'Ubadah ؓ sent loads of dates for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Muslims. It was their food, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that day: "What excellent food dates are!" Ibn Ishaq said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ camped at a well of the wells of Banu Qurayzah, on the side of their properties, called Bi'r Anna. He besieged them for twenty-five nights, until the siege exhausted them, and Allah cast terror into their hearts.
