فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ النَّحْوِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ ثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ح وَثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ خَلِيٍّ ثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا الرَّدَّادِ اللَّيْثِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ يَذْكُرُ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ صحيح

✧ He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: I am al-Rahman. I created al-rahim and derived for it a name from My name. Whoever maintains it, I maintain him, and whoever severs it, I sever him." Sahih.
