حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ

الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَامِرِ بْنِ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ مُعَتِّبِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ ثَقِيفٍ وَاسْمُهُ قُصَيُّ بْنِ مُنَبِّهِ بْنِ بَكْرِ بْنِ هَوَازِنِ بْنِ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَصَفَةَ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ مُضَرَ بْنِ نِزَارٍ وَكَانَ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مُغِيرَةُ الرَّأْيِ وَكَانَ دَاهِيَةً لَا يَجِدُ فِي صَدْرِهِ أَمْرَيْنِ إِلَّا وَجَدَ فِي أَحَدِهِمَا مَخْرَجًا قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَقَامَ مَعَهُ حَتَّى اعْتَمَرَ عُمَرَةَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ فَكَانَتْ أَوَّلُ سَفْرَةٍ خَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ فِيهَا وَكُنْتُ أَكُونُ مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ وَأَلْزَمُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِيمَنْ يَلْزَمُهُ وَشَهِدَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْمَشَاهِدَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَدِمَ وَفْدُ ثَقِيفٍ فَأَنْزَلَهُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَكْرَمَهُمْ وَبَعَثَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ حَرْبٍ إِلَى الطَّائِفِ فَهَزَمُوا أَلْوِيَةً

✧ Al-Mughira b. Shuba b. Abi Amir b. Masud b. Muattib b. Malik b. Ka'b b. Amr b. Sa'd b. Awf b. Thaqif, whose name is Qusayy b. Munabbih b. Bakr b. Hawazin b. Mansur b. Ikrima b. Khasafa b. Qays b. Ghaylan b. Mudar b. Nizar. He was given the kunya Abu Abdullah and was called 'Mughira of opinion.' He was clever; he never found himself facing two matters without finding a way out of one of them. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and stayed with him until he performed the Umrah of al-Hudaybiyya in Dhu al-Qa'dah in the year six of the Hijra. Al-Mughira said: It was the first journey I went on with him, and I used to be with Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and keep close to the Prophet ﷺ among those who kept close to him. After that, al-Mughira witnessed the battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The delegation of Thaqif arrived, and he lodged them and honored them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him and Abu Sufyan b. Harb to al-Ta'if, and they defeated the banners.
