حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ وَصَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
لَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ بَدْرٍ بَعَثَ بَشِيرَيْنِ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَدِينَةٍ بَعَثَ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِ السَّافِلَةِ وَبَعَثَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ رَوَاحَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْعَالِيَةِ يُبَشِّرُونَهُمْ بِفَتْحِ اللَّهِ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ فَوَافَقَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ ابْنَهُ أُسَامَةَ حِينَ سَوَّى التُّرَابَ عَلَى رُقْيَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ذَاكَ أَبُوكَ حِينَ قَدِمَ قَالَ أُسَامَةُ فَجِئْتُ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ لِلنَّاسِ يَقُولُ قُتِلَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ وَشَيْبَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ وَأَبُو جَهْلِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ وَنَبِيُّهُ وَمُنَبِّهٌ وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَتِ أَحَقٌّ هَذَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَاللَّهِ يَا بُنَيَّ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished from Badr, he sent two bearers of glad tidings to the people of Madinah. He sent Zayd b. Haritha to the people of the lower part of the city, and sent Abdullah b. Rawaha to the people of the upper part, to give them the good news of Allah's victory granted to His Prophet ﷺ. Zayd b. Haritha happened to meet his son Usama while he was leveling the earth over Ruqayya, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It was said to him, 'That is your father when he arrives.' Usama said, 'I came while he was standing among the people saying, "Utbah b. Rabi'ah, Shaybah b. Rabi'ah, Abu Jahl b. Hisham, and his brothers Nabih and Munabbih, and Umayyah b. Khalaf have been killed." I said, "O my father, is this true?" He said, "Yes, by Allah, O my son."
