أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّفَّارُ الْعَدْلُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَنْ مُرَّةَ
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَا خَرَجَتْ مَرْيَمُ إِلَى جَانِبِ الْمِحْرَابِ بِحَيْضٍ أَصَابَهَا فَلَمَّا طَهُرَتْ إِذْ هِيَ بِرَجُلٍ مَعَهَا وَهُوَ قَوْلُهُ {فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا} [مريم 17] وَهُوَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَفَزِعَتْ مِنْهُ فَقَالَتْ {إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِالرَّحْمَنِ مِنْكَ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَقِيًّا} [مريم 18] قَالَ {إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَامًا زَكِيًّا} [مريم 19] الْآيَةُ فَخَرَجَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا جِلْبَابُهَا فَأَخَذَ بِكُمِّهَا فَنَفَخَ فِي جَيْبِ دِرْعِهَا وَكَانَ مَشْقُوقًا مِنْ قُدَّامِهَا فَدَخَلَتِ النَّفْخَةُ صَدْرَهَا فَحَمَلَتْ فَأَتَتْهَا أُخْتُهَا امْرَأَةُ زَكَرِيَّا لَيْلَةً تَزُورُهَا فَلَمَّا فَتَحَتْ لَهَا الْبَابَ الْتَزَمَتْهَا فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ زَكَرِيَّا يَا مَرْيَمُ أَشَعَرْتِ أَنِّي حُبْلَى؟ فَقَالَتْ مَرْيَمُ أَيْضًا أَشَعَرْتِ أَنِّي حُبْلَى فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ زَكَرِيَّا فَإِنِّي وَجَدْتُ مَا فِي بَطْنِي يَسْجُدُ لِلَّذِي فِي بَطْنِكِ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ ﷻ {مُصَدِّقًا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ} [آل عمران 39] فَوَلَدَتِ امْرَأَةُ زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَنْ تَضَعَ مَرْيَمُ خَرَجَتْ إِلَى جَانِبِ الْمِحْرَابِ فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَى جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتِ اسْتِحْيَاءً مِنَ النَّاسِ {يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَذَا وَكُنْتُ نَسِيًّا مَنْسِيًّا} [مريم 23] فَنَادَاهَا جِبْرِيلُ {مِنْ تَحْتِهَا أَلَّا تَحْزَنِي قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا} [مريم 25] فَهَزَّتْهُ فَأَجْرَى لَهَا فِي الْمِحْرَابِ نَهْرًا وَالسَّرِيُّ النَّهَرُ فَتَسَاقَطَتِ النَّخْلَةُ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا فَلَمَّا وَلَدَتْهُ ذَهَبَ الشَّيْطَانُ فَأَخْبَرَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَّ مَرْيَمَ وَلَدَتْ فَلَمَّا أَرَادُوهَا عَلَى الْكَلَامِ أَشَارَتْ إِلَى عِيسَى فَتَكَلَّمَ عِيسَى فَقَالَ إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ آتَانِيَ الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيًّا وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا فَلَمَّا وُلِدَ عِيسَى لَمْ يَبْقَ فِي الْأَرْضِ صَنَمٌ يُعْبَدُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا وَقَعَ سَاجِدًا لِوَجْهِهِ

✧ From 'Abd Allah, they both said: Maryam went out to the side of the prayer niche with a menstrual impurity that had befallen her. When she became pure, there was a man with her. That is His saying: {Then We sent to her Our Spirit, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man} [Maryam:17], and he is Jibril ﷺ. She was frightened by him and said: {I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, if you should be righteous} [Maryam:18]. He said: {I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you a pure boy} [Maryam:19]—the verse. She went out with her outer garment on, and he took hold of her sleeve and blew into the opening of her chemise, which was slit from the front, and the breath entered her chest, and she conceived. Her sister, the wife of Zakariyya, came to visit her one night. When she opened the door for her, she embraced her. The wife of Zakariyya said: O Maryam, did you realize that I am pregnant? Maryam likewise said: Did you realize that I am pregnant? The wife of Zakariyya said: Indeed I have found that what is in my womb prostrates to what is in your womb. That is His saying, may He be glorified: {confirming a word from Allah} [Al 'Imran:39]. The wife of Zakariyya gave birth to Yahya. When Maryam was about to give birth, she went out to the side of the prayer niche, and the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, out of shame before the people: {I wish I had died before this and been completely forgotten} [Maryam:23]. Jibril called to her {from beneath her: Do not grieve; your Lord has placed beneath you a stream. And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates} [Maryam:25]. She shook it, and He caused a river to flow for her in the prayer niche—and al-sariyy is the river—and the palm tree dropped ripe, fresh dates. When she gave birth to him, the devil went and informed the Children of Israel that Maryam had given birth. When they wanted her to speak, she pointed to 'Isa, and 'Isa spoke and said: Indeed I am the servant of Allah; He has given me the Book and made me a prophet and made me blessed. When 'Isa was born, no idol on earth that was worshipped besides Allah remained except that it fell prostrate on its face.
