✧ When {May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and he perished} was revealed up to {and his wife, the carrier of firewood, around her neck} [Al-Masad:5], a rope of palm fiber. It was said to the wife of Abu Lahab: "Muhammad has satirized you." She came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting in the assembly and said: "O Muhammad, why do you satirize me?" He said: "By Allah, I have not satirized you; only Allah has satirized you." She said: "Have you seen me carrying firewood or seen around my neck a rope of palm fiber?" Then she left. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained for days without revelation coming to him. She came to him and said: "O Muhammad, I think your companion has abandoned you and hated you." Then Allah ﷻ revealed: {By the morning brightness and by the night when it covers} [Ad-Duha:1]: "Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He hated you."
