✧ While I was walking alongside the Messenger of God ﷺ holding his hand—or he said: holding my hand—he said to me: "O son of al-Khasasiyah, why have you come to resent God? You are walking alongside the Messenger of God ﷺ." I said: "I do not resent God in anything, may my father and mother be your ransom. Every good God has done for me, every good God has done for me." He said: Then the Messenger of God ﷺ came upon the graves of the polytheists and said: "These have gone ahead with much good, these have gone ahead with much good." Then he came upon the graves of the Muslims and said: "These have attained much good, these have attained much good." Then the Messenger of God ﷺ glanced and saw a man walking among the graves wearing two sandals. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "O owner of the two sandals, throw off your two sandals." When the man saw the Messenger of God ﷺ, he threw them away.

✧ I wanted to fast two days consecutively, so I mentioned that to Bashir. He said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade it and said: 'The Jews do that. But fast, and when night comes, break your fast.'"
