حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ لَيْلَى امْرَأَةِ بَشِيرِ ابْنِ الْخَصَاصِيَّةِ قَالَتْ:

أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَصُومَ يَوْمَيْنِ مُوَاصِلًا، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِبَشِيرٍ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهُ وَقَالَ: " يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ الْيَهُودُ، وَلَكِنْ صُومُوا فَإِذَا كَانَ اللَّيْلُ فَأَفْطِرُوا

✧ I wanted to fast two days consecutively, so I mentioned that to Bashir. He said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade it and said: 'The Jews do that. But fast, and when night comes, break your fast.'"
