أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ سَهْمٌ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ غَزَوَاتِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَا رَافِعُ، إِنْ شِئْتَ نَزَعْتُ السَّهْمَ وَتَرَكْتُ الْقُطْبَةَ، وَأَشْهَدُ لَكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنَّكَ شَهِيدٌ "، فَفَعَلَ
✧ He was struck by an arrow while with the Messenger of God ﷺ in one of his expeditions. The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "O Rafi', if you wish, I will remove the arrow and leave the head, and I will testify for you on the Day of Resurrection that you are a martyr." And he did so.

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ مِنْ تِهَامَةَ وَقَدْ جَاعَ الْقَوْمُ فَأَصَابُوا إِبِلًا وَغَنَمًا، فَانْتَهَى إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ نُصِبَتِ الْقُدُورُ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْقُدُورِ فَأُكْفِئَتْ ثُمَّ قَسَمَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَعَدَلَ عَشْرًا مِنَ الْغَنَمِ بِبَعِيرٍ، قَالَ: فَنَدَّ بَعِيرٌ مِنْ إِبِلِ الْقَوْمِ وَلَيْسَ فِي الْقَوْمِ إِلَّا خَيْلٌ يَسِيرَةٌ، فَرَمَاهُ رَجُلٌ بِسَهْمٍ فَحَبَسَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ لِهَذِهِ الْإِبِلِ أَوَابِدَ كَأَوَابِدِ الْوَحْشِ، فَمَا غَلَبَكُمْ مِنْهُ فَاصْنَعُوا بِهِ هَكَذَا
✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ at Dhu al-Hulayfah in Tihamah, and the people became hungry and captured camels and sheep. The Messenger of God ﷺ came upon them after the pots had been set up, and he ordered the pots to be overturned. Then he divided among them, equating ten sheep to one camel. He said: Then a camel from the people's camels bolted, and the people had only a few horses. A man shot it with an arrow and stopped it. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "These camels have wild tendencies like those of wild animals. Whatever of them eludes you, do to it like this."

قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا لَاقُو الْعَدُوِّ غَدًا وَلَيْسَ مَعَنَا مُدًى، أَفَنَذْبَحُ بِالْقَصَبِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَا أَنْهَرَ الدَّمَ وَذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللهِ فَكُلْ، مَا خَلَا السِّنَّ وَالظُّفُرَ، وَسَأُخْبِرُكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ؛ أَمَّا السِّنُّ فَعَظْمٌ، وَأَمَّا الظُّفُرُ فَمُدَى الْحَبَشَةِ
✧ We said: "O Messenger of God, we will meet the enemy tomorrow and we have no knives. Can we slaughter with reeds?" The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Whatever lets the blood flow and the name of God is mentioned, then eat, except for the tooth and the nail. I will tell you about that: as for the tooth, it is bone, and as for the nail, it is the knife of the Abyssinians."

✧ The earnings of a cupper are vile, the dowry of a prostitute is vile, and the price of a dog is vile.

لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللهِ وَالْفَتْحُ قَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَنَا وَأَصْحَابِي حَيِّزٌ وَالنَّاسُ حَيِّزٌ، لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ
✧ When this verse was revealed: “When the victory of Allah and the conquest come” (Qur’an 110:1), the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it until he completed it, then said: “I and my companions are one group and the people are another group. There is no emigration after the conquest.”

يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ جَدَّهُ هَلَكَ وَتَرَكَ غُلَامًا حَجَّامًا وَنَاضِحًا وَأَرْضًا وَأَمَةً، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُجْعَلَ كَسْبُ الْحَجَّامِ فِي عَلَفِ النَّاضِحِ، وَنَهَى عَنْ كَسْبِ الْأَمَةِ، وَقَالَ فِي الْأَرْضِ: ازْرَعُوهَا أَوْ ذَرُوهَا
✧ He narrated that his grandfather died and left a slave boy who was a cupper, a water-carrying camel, land, and a slave woman. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the earnings of the cupper be spent on the fodder of the water-carrying camel, and he forbade [taking] the earnings of the slave woman. Regarding the land, he said: “Cultivate it or leave it.”
