«دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَعِنْدِي قِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ فَشَرِبَ مِنْ فَمِ الْقِرْبَةِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ فَقَطَعْتُ فَمَ الْقِرْبَةِ ألْتَمِسَ الْبَرَكَةَ بِذَلِكَ»
✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon me while I had a water-skin hanging, so he drank from the mouth of the water-skin while standing. I then cut off the mouth of the water-skin, seeking blessing through that.

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي وَأَدْتُ أَرْبَعَ بَنِينَ لِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ؟ فَقَالَ اعْتِقِي أَرْبَعَ رِقَابٍ قَالَتْ فَأَعْتَقْتُ أَبَاكَ سَعِيدَ وَابْنَاهُ مَيْسَرَةَ وَجُبَيْرًا وَأُمَّ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَتْ وَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «دَمُ عَفْرَاءَ أَزْكَى عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ دَمِ سَوْدَاءَ»
✧ I said, “O Messenger of God, I buried alive four of my sons in the Jāhiliyyah?” He said, “Free four slaves.” She said, “So I freed your father Saʿīd, his two sons Maysarah and Jubayr, and the mother of Maysarah.” She said: And the Messenger of God ﷺ said to us, “The blood of a fair-skinned woman is purer in the sight of God than the blood of a black-skinned woman.”

جَاءَ عَكَّافُ بْنُ وَدَاعَةَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا عَكَّافُ لَكَ زَوْجَةٌ؟ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَا أَبْرَحُ حَتَّى تُزَوِّجَنِي مَنْ شِئْتَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ زَوَّجْتُكَ عَلَى اسْمِ اللهِ وَالْبَرَكَةِ كَرِيمَةَ بِنْتَ كُلْثُومٍ الْحِمْيَرِيَّةَ
✧ ʿAkkāf b. Wadāʿah came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said, “O ʿAkkāf, do you have a wife?” He replied, “O Messenger of God, I will not leave until you marry me to whomever you wish.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “I have married you, in the name of God and with blessing, to Karīmah bt. Kulthūm al-Ḥimyarīyah.”

دَعَتْنِي كُلَيْبَةُ أَوْ كُلْثُومُ بِنْتُ بُرْثُنٍ الْعَنْبَرِيَّةُ فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّ هَذَا أَخَذَ زِرْبِيَّتِي كُنْتُ أَلْبَسُ فَلَقِيتُ الرَّجُلَ فَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ هَذَا أَخَذَ زِرْبِيَّةَ أُمِّي؟ فَقَالَ «رُدَّ عَلَيْهِ زِرْبِيَّةَ أُمِّهِ»
✧ Kulaybah – or Kulthūm – bt. Burthun al-ʿAnbarīyah called me and said, “O my son, this man took my zarbiyyah (ornamental carpet) which I used to wear.” So I met the man and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ, and I said, “O Messenger of God, this man took my mother’s zarbiyyah.” He said, “Return to him his mother’s zarbiyyah.”
