" وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَصُومُوا رَمَضَانَ وَأَعْطُوا الْخُمُسَ مِنَ الْمَغَانِمِ، وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ؛ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ، وَالْحَنْتَمِ، وَالْمُزَفَّتِ، وَالنَّقِيرِ ". قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا عِلْمُكَ بِالنَّقِيرِ ؟ قَالَ: الْجِذْعُ يَنْقُرُونَهُ وَيُدْفِئُونَ فِيهِ التَّمْرَ وَالْمَاءَ حَتَّى إِذَا سَكَنَ غَلَيَانُهُ شَرِبْتُمُوهُ، حَتَّى إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَضْرِبُ ابْنَ عَمِّهِ بِالسَّيْفِ " - وَفِي الْقَوْمِ رَجُلٌ قَدْ أَصَابَتْهُ جِرَاحَةٌ كَذَلِكَ ; فَجَعَلَ يُخَبِّؤُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ - قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَفِيمَ نَشْرَبُ ؟ قَالَ: فِي الْأَسْقِيَةِ الْأَدَمِ الَّتِي يُلَاثُ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِهَا "، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَرْضَنَا كَثِيرَةُ الْجِرْذَانِ وَلَا تُبْقِي لَنَا أَسْقِيَةَ الْأَدَمِ. قَالَ: فَإِنْ أَكَلَهَا الْجِرْذَانُ، فَإِنْ أَكَلَهَا الْجِرْذَانُ " مَرَّتَيْنِ - أَوْ ثَلَاثٌ
✧ "Pay the alms, fast Ramadan, give the fifth of the spoils of war. And I forbid you four things: the gourd vessel, the green jar, the pitch-coated vessel, and the hollowed-out stump." They said: 'O Messenger of God, what do you know about the hollowed-out stump?' He said: 'It is the trunk that they hollow out and put dates and water into, and when its boiling subsides you drink it, until one of you strikes his cousin with the sword.'—and among the people was a man who had been wounded in that way; he began to hide it from the Messenger of God ﷺ—They said: 'O Messenger of God, in what shall we drink?' He said: 'In tanned waterskins whose mouths are tied.' They said: 'O Messenger of God, our land has many rats, and they leave us no tanned waterskins.' He said: 'Even if the rats eat them, even if the rats eat them'—twice or three times.

نَهَى أَنْ يُنْتَبَذَ فِي الْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالدُّبَّاءِ، وَأَنْ يُخْلَطَ الْبُسْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبُ بِالتَّمْرِ
✧ He prohibited soaking (making nabidh) in the green jar, the pitch-coated vessel, and the gourd, and mixing unripe dates with ripe dates, and raisins with ripe dates.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ، وَبَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ. وَنَهَى عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمَيْنِ؛ يَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ، وَيَوْمِ النَّحْرِ
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ prohibited praying after dawn until the sun rises, and after the afternoon prayer until the sun sets. And he prohibited fasting on two days: the day of Fitr and the day of sacrifice.

" يَمْلِكُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي " - أَوْ قَالَ: " مِنِّي أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ -: أَقْنَى الْأَنْفِ أَجْلَى الْجَبْهَةِ يَمْلَأُ الْأَرْضَ عَدْلًا وَقِسْطًا كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا وَظُلْمًا يَعِيشُ هَكَذَا " - وَبَسَطَ يَسَارَهُ وَأُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ يَمِينِهِ؛ السَّبَّابَةَ وَالْإِبْهَامَ، وَعَقَدَ ثَلَاثَةً
✧ "A man from my Ummah"—or he said, "from me," I think he said—"with an aquiline nose and a broad forehead will rule, filling the earth with justice and equity as it was filled with tyranny and oppression. He will live thus"—and he spread his left hand and two fingers of his right, the index and thumb, and held three fingers together.

✧ My Ummah will become two factions, between which a deviant group will emerge; the one of the two closest to the truth will undertake fighting them.

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عَلَى بَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَتَذَاكَرُ، يَنْزِعُ هَذَا بِآيَةٍ وَهَذَا بِآيَةٍ. قَالَ: فَقَالَ:.............. مَا هَؤُلَاءِ ; أَلِهَذَا بُعِثْتُمْ ؟ أَمْ بِهَذَا أُمِرْتُمْ ؟ لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ
✧ We were sitting at the door of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, discussing, one citing a verse and another citing a verse. He said: Then he said: "What are these? For this were you sent? Or by this were you commanded? Do not revert after me to disbelief, striking one another's necks."

نَا سُوَيْدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ - بِمِثْلِهِ. وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ إِلَّا سُوَيْدٌ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ صَاحِبُ الطَّعَامِ. وَهُوَ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، رَوَى عَنْهُ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى وَجَمَاعَةٌ، لَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ. عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ثِقَةٌ بَصْرِيٌّ
✧ Suwayd narrated to us, from Qatada, from Anas—similar to it. And this hadith we do not know anyone narrated it except Suwayd Abu Hatim, the food merchant. He is Suwayd b. Ibrahim; Safwan b. 'Isa and a group narrated from him, and there is no harm in him. 'Abd al-Rahman b. al-Mubarak is trustworthy, a Basran.

أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا يَحِلُّ لَنَا مِنَ الشَّرَابِ ؟ قَالَ: لَا تَشْرَبُوا فِي النَّقِيرِ. قَالُوا: وَمَا النَّقِيرُ ؟ قَالَ: جِذْعُ النَّخْلَةِ يُنْقَرُ فَيُنْتَبَذُ فِيهِ. وَلَا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ، وَلَا الْحَنْتَمِ..................................... وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمُوكَى، عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمُوكَى
✧ The delegation of Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, what drink is lawful for us? He said: Do not drink from naqir. They said: What is naqir? He said: A palm trunk hollowed out, in which nabidh is made. Nor from dubba, nor hantam... And upon you (is to use) water-skins with their mouths tied shut. Upon you (is to use) water-skins with their mouths tied shut.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us with truffles in his hand and said: These are from manna, and they are a cure for the eye.

✧ When one of you wakes at night and wakes his wife, and they pray two rak'ahs together, they will be recorded among the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember Allah much.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man reciting Surah al-Kahf. When he saw the Prophet ﷺ, he fell silent. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is the gathering with which I was commanded to keep myself patiently.

مَا جَلَسَ قَوْمٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِلَّا حَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَغَشِيَتْهُمُ الرَّحْمَةُ وَذَكَرَهُمُ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِيمَنْ عِنْدَهُ
✧ No people sit remembering Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, but the angels surround them, mercy covers them, and Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, mentions them among those with Him.
