✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man supplicating in his prayer without praising Allah and without sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "This one has been hasty." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called him and said to him and to others: "When any of you prays, let him begin with praising Allah and extolling Him, then let him supplicate for whatever he wishes."

✧ There are three about whom you should not ask: a man who separated from the community and disobeyed his leader and died disobedient; a female slave or a male slave who fled from his master and died; and a woman whose husband was absent while he had provided for her worldly needs, and she displayed her adornment after him. And three about whom you should not ask: a man who contended with Allah for His cloak, for His cloak is pride and His lower garment is might; a man who was in doubt about Allah's command; and the one who despairs of Allah's mercy.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he prayed with the people, men would fall down from their standing in prayer because of the severe hunger that afflicted them, and they were the people of the Suffah, until the Bedouins would say: "These are madmen." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the prayer, the Prophet ﷺ turned and said: "If you knew what I know of what you have with Allah, you would love to increase in poverty and need." Fadalah said: "And I was with the Messenger of Allah that day."

I shall tell you who the Muslim is: the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe, and the believer is the one whom people trust with their wealth and their lives, and the emigrant is the one who abandons sins and transgressions, and the mujahid is the one who strives against his own self in obedience to Allah."
