✧ Fasting three days of every month is equivalent to fasting the entire time and breaking the fast.

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ ابْنٌ لَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَتُحِبُّهُ ؟ " فَقَالَ: أَحَبَّكَ اللهُ كَمَا أُحِبُّهُ، فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ، فَقَالُوا: مَاتَ ابْنُهُ، فَأَتَاهُ فَقَالَ: مَا يَسُرُّكَ أَلَّا تَأْتِيَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا وَجَدْتَهُ عِنْدَهُ يَفْتَحُ لَكَ
✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ with a son of his. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Do you love him?' He said: 'May Allah love you as I love him.' Then the Prophet ﷺ lost sight of him, so he asked about him, and they said: 'His son died.' So he went to him and said: 'Would it not please you that you will not come to any gate of the gates of Paradise except that you will find him there opening it for you?'

" إِذَا هَلَكَ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ فَلَا خَيْرَ فِيكُمْ، وَلَا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى النَّاسِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
✧ When the people of Syria perish, there is no good in you. And a group of people from my nation will continue to uphold the truth, victorious over people until the Day of Resurrection.

" أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَقَدْ حَلَبَ وَصَرَّ، وَإِنَّمَا أَرَادَ أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ غُلَامٌ مُتَحَرِّكٌ
✧ He came to the Prophet ﷺ having already milked and tied the udder; he only meant that he came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was a young, active boy.

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَقَى فِي شَجَرَةٍ يَجْتَنِي مِنْهَا سِوَاكًا، فَوَضَعَ رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَيْهَا، فَضَحِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ دِقَّةِ سَاقَيْهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَهُمَا أَثْقَلُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ مِنْ أُحُدٍ
✧ Abd Allah b. Mas'ud climbed a tree to pick a tooth-stick from it, and he placed his feet on it. The companions of the Prophet ﷺ laughed at the thinness of his legs. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'They are heavier on the Scale than Mount Uhud.'

" مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَاتَيْنِ الشَّجَرَتَيْنِ فَلَا يَقْرَبَنَّ مَسْجِدَنَا، فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ فَأَمِيتُوهُمَا طَبْخًا
✧ Whoever eats from these two plants should not come near our mosque. If you must do so, then kill them by cooking.

✧ We were forbidden from praying between the pillars, and we were sternly driven away from it during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ بِنَحْوِهِ. وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، إِلَّا هَارُونُ، وَلَا نَعْلَمُ أَسْنَدَ قَتَادَةُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ غَيْرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ
✧ Harun Abu Muslim informed us, from Qatadah, from Mu'awiyah b. Qurrah, from his father, with something similar. We do not know of anyone who narrated this hadith from Qatadah except Harun, and we do not know that Qatadah narrated any other hadith with a chain from Mu'awiyah b. Qurrah from his father besides this one.

" أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَاسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ، فَأَذِنَ لِي أَنْ أَرَى الْخَاتَمَ، فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي فِي جَيْبِهِ فَوَجَدْتُ عَلَى نُغْضِ كَتِفِهِ مِثْلُ السِّلْعَةِ
✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked his permission, and he permitted me to see the seal. I put my hand into his collar and found on the cartilage of his shoulder something like a gland.

✧ The Prophet ﷺ sent for a man who had married his father's wife, and he ordered that his neck be struck.

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said about al-Hasan and al-Husayn: 'I love them, so love them,' or he said: 'O Allah, I love them, so love them.'

كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي نُرِيدُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَلَمَّا كُنَّا بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ مَرَرْنَا بِحَيٍّ فَبِتْنَا فِيهِ، فَإِذَا الرَّاعِي قَدْ جَاءَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْحَيِّ يَسْعَى، يَقُولُ: لَسْتُ أَرْعَى لَكُمْ، فَإِنَّ الذِّئْبَ يَجِيءُ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ فَيَأْخُذُ شَاةً مِنَ الْغَنَمِ، وَالصَّنَمُ يَنْظُرُ لَا يُغَيِّرُ وَلَا يُنْكِرُ، فَقَالُوا: أَقِمْ عَلَيْنَا - أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: حَتَّى نَأْتِيَهُ - فَأَتَوْهُ، فَتَكَلَّمُوا حَوْلَهُ، وَقَالَ لِلرَّاعِي: أَقِمِ اللَّيْلَةَ، فَقَالَ أَبِي: أُقِيمُ اللَّيْلَةَ حَتَّى نَنْظُرَ، فَبِتْنَا لَيْلَتَنَا، فَلَمَّا كَانَ صَلَاةُ الْغَدَاةِ، إِذَا الرَّاعِي يَشْتَدُّ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْقَرْيَةِ، يَقُولُ لَهُمُ: الْبُشْرَى أَلَا تَرَوْنَ أَنَّ الذِّئْبَ مَرْبُوطٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الصَّنَمِ بِغَيْرِ وَثَاقٍ، فَجَاءُوا وَجِئْنَا مَعَهُمْ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ هَكَذَا فَاصْنَعْ فَقَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ، ﷺ، فَحَدَّثَهُ أَبِي الْحَدِيثَ، فَقَالَ: يَلْعَبُ بِهِمُ الشَّيْطَانُ
✧ I was with my father heading to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we were partway along the road, we passed by a settlement and spent the night there. The shepherd came running to the people of the settlement, saying: 'I will not shepherd for you any longer, for a wolf comes every night and takes a sheep from the flock, while the idol looks on without changing or objecting.' They said: 'Stay with us' – I think he said – 'until we go to it.' They went to it and spoke around it, and they said to the shepherd: 'Stay tonight.' My father said: 'I will stay tonight so we can see.' We spent the night, and at dawn prayer, the shepherd came running to the people of the village, saying: 'Good news! Do you not see that the wolf is tied in front of the idol without any rope?' They came and we came with them. He said: 'Yes, do like this.' Then we went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and my father told him the story. He said: 'Satan is toying with them.'

✧ A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I slaughter a sheep and I feel compassion for it.' He said: 'And the sheep, if you show it mercy, may Allah show mercy to you.'

✧ The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the Mahdi and said: He will surely fill the earth with equity and justice, just as it was filled with oppression and injustice.

✧ A man said: O Messenger of Allah, I slaughter a sheep and then I feel pity for it. He said: And the sheep—if you show it mercy, Allah will show you mercy.

" لَتُمْلَأَنَّ الْأَرْضُ جَوْرًا وَظُلْمًا، فَإِذَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا وَظُلْمًا بَعَثَ اللهُ رَجُلًا مِنِّي اسْمُهُ اسْمِي أَوِ اسْمُهُ اسْمُ أَبِي، يَمْلَؤُهَا عَدْلًا وَقِسْطًا، كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا وَظُلْمًا، فَلَا تَمْنَعُ السَّمَاءُ شَيْئًا مِنْ قَطْرِهَا وَلَا الْأَرْضُ شَيْئًا مِنْ نَبَاتِهَا، يَلْبَثُ فِيكُمْ سَبْعًا أَوْ ثَمَانِيًا أَوْ تِسْعًا
✧ “The earth will surely be filled with oppression and injustice. When it is filled with oppression and injustice, Allah will send a man from me whose name is my name, or whose name is my father’s name. He will fill it with justice and equity, just as it was filled with oppression and injustice. Then the sky will not withhold any of its rain, nor the earth any of its vegetation. He will remain among you for seven, or eight, or nine.”
