ذُكِرَتِ الْجُدُودُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الْخَيْلِ، وَقَالَ آخَرُ: جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الْإِبِلِ، وَقَالَ آخَرُ: جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الْغَنَمِ، وَقَالَ آخَرُ: جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الرَّقِيقِ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ آخِرِ رَكْعَةٍ. فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَاءِ، وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ، وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ، حَتَّى بَلَغَ: وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ، قَالَ: فَطَوَّلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَوْتَهُ بِالْجَدِّ، لِيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ
✧ Bounty was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ while he was in prayer. A man said: The bounty of so-and-so is in horses; another said: The bounty of so-and-so is in camels; another said: The bounty of so-and-so is in sheep; another said: The bounty of so-and-so is in slaves. He said: When the Messenger of God ﷺ finished, he raised his head from the last rak'ah and said: O God, our Lord, to You be praise, filling the heavens, and filling the earth, and filling whatever You will after that, until he reached: Nor does bounty avail the possessor of bounty against You. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ prolonged his voice on 'bounty' so that they would know that it is not as they say.

أَنَّ الْحَجَّاجَ أَخَّرَ الصَّلَاةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ. فَقَالَ لَهُ شَيْخٌ: " وَاللهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي، فَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ صَنَعَ كَمَا تَصْنَعُ أَنْتَ " قَالَ: فَلَمَّا سَمِعْتُهُ يَذْكُرُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُهُ خَرَجَ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ، وَإِذَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو جُحَيْفَةَ
✧ Al-Hajjaj delayed the prayer on Friday. An old man said to him: By God, I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ praying, and I never saw him do what you do. He said: When I heard him mention the Messenger of God ﷺ, I said: How did you see the Messenger of God ﷺ? He said: I saw him come out when the sun had declined, and the old man was Abu Juhaifah.

" أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِمَكَّةَ وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْطَحِ فِي قُبَّةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءَ مِنْ أَدَمٍ قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ بِوَضُوئِهِ فَبَيْنَ نَائِلٍ وَنَاضِحٍ، قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيَاضِ سَاقَيْهِ، قَالَ: فَتَوَضَّأَ وَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ. قَالَ: فَجَعَلْتُ أَتَتَبَّعُ هَاهُنَا وَهَاهُنَا، يَقُولُ: يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا، يَقُولُ: حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ، ثُمَّ رُكِزَتْ لَهُ عَنَزَةٌ، فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْحِمَارُ وَالْكَلْبُ لَا يُمْنَعُ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلْ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ
✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ in Makkah while he was at al-Abtah in a red leather tent of his. He said: Bilal came out with his ablution water, and some were getting it and some were sprinkling it. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ came out in a red garment, as if I am looking at the whiteness of his shins. He said: He performed ablution, and Bilal gave the call to prayer. He said: I started following this way and that, he says: right and left, saying: Come to prayer, come to success. Then a short spear was fixed for him, and he stood and prayed the afternoon prayer as two rak'ahs. Then a donkey and a dog would pass in front of him without being prevented. He said: Then he continued to pray two rak'ahs until he returned to Madinah.

أَنَّهُ اشْتَرَى غُلَامًا حَجَّامًا، فَأَمَرَ بِمَحَاجِمِهِ فَكُسِرَتْ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: تَكْسِرُهَا ؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الدَّمِ وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ وَكَسْبِ الْبَغِيِّ، وَلَعَنَ الْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُوتَشِمَةَ، وَآكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ، وَلَعَنَ الْمُصَوِّرَ
✧ He bought a slave who was a cupper, and he ordered that his cupping instruments be broken. I said to him, "Will you break them?" He said, "The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade the price of blood, the price of a dog, and the earnings of a prostitute, and he cursed the woman who tattoos and the woman who gets tattooed, the one who consumes riba and the one who pays it, and he cursed the image-maker."

" أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَأْخُذُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ وَضُوئِهِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ
✧ He saw the Prophet ﷺ perform wudu in the midday heat, and the people began taking from the leftover water of his wudu. Then he prayed Zuhr as two rak'ahs and Asr as two rak'ahs, with a short spear in front of him.

" أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ بِالْأَبْطَحِ، فَقَالَ: " مَرْحَبًا، أَنْتُمْ مِنِّي "، فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ خَرَجَ بِلَالٌ فَأَذَّنَ، وَجَعَلَ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ، وَجَعَلَ يَسْتَدِيرُ فِي أَذَانِهِ، فَلَمَّا أَقَامَ غَرَزَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنَزَةً فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا
✧ We came to the Messenger of God ﷺ in a group from Banu 'Amir b. Sa'sa'ah at al-Abtah. He said, "Welcome; you are of me." When the prayer time arrived, Bilal went out and gave the call to prayer, placing his fingers in his ears and turning around during his call. When he gave the iqamah, the Prophet ﷺ planted a short spear and prayed toward it.

" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرِهِ الَّذِي نَامُوا فِيهِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَرَدَّ اللهُ إِلَيْكُمْ أَرْوَاحَكُمْ، فَمَنْ نَامَ عَنْ صَلَاةٍ، فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ، وَمَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّ إِذَا ذَكَرَ
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was on the journey during which they slept until the sun rose. He said, "You were dead, and God returned your souls to you. Whoever sleeps through a prayer should pray it when he wakes, and whoever forgets a prayer should pray it when he remembers."

✧ A man slaughtered before the Messenger of God ﷺ prayed on the Day of Sacrifice. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "It is not sufficient for you." The man said, "O Messenger of God, I have a jadha'ah." He said, "It is sufficient for you, but it will not be sufficient for anyone after you."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ آخَى بَيْنَ سَلْمَانَ، وَبَيْنَ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ: فَجَاءَ سَلْمَانُ يَزُورُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ، فَرَأَى أُمَّ الدَّرْدَاءِ مُتَبَتِّلَةً قَالَ: مَا شَأْنُكِ ؟ قَالَتْ: إِنَّ أَخَاكَ لَيْسَ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ رَحَّبَ بِهِ سَلْمَانُ وَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامًا، فَقَالَ لَهُ سَلْمَانُ: اطْعَمْ، قَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا طَعِمْتَ، مَا أَنَا بِآكِلٍ حَتَّى تَأْكُلَ، قَالَ: فَأَكَلَ مَعَهُ وَبَاتَ عِنْدَهُ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ قَامَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ، فَأَجْلَسَهُ سَلْمَانُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ، إِنَّ لِرَبِّكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، وَلِأَهْلِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، وَلِجَسَدِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، أَعْطِ كُلَّ ذِي حَقٍّ حَقَّهُ، صُمْ وَأَفْطِرْ، وَقُمْ وَنَمْ، وَائْتِ أَهْلَكَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ عِنْدَ الصُّبْحِ قَالَ: قُمِ الْآنَ، فَقَامَا فَصَلَّيَا، ثُمَّ خَرَجَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَامَ إِلَيْهِ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِمَا قَالَ سَلْمَانُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ لَهُ سَلْمَانُ
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ established brotherhood between Salman and Abu al-Darda'. Salman came to visit Abu al-Darda' and saw Umm al-Darda' in disheveled clothing. He said, "What is the matter with you?" She said, "Your brother has no need for this world." When Abu al-Darda' came, Salman welcomed him and brought him food. Salman said to him, "Eat." He said, "I am fasting." Then he said, "I adjure you to eat, for I will not eat until you eat." So he ate with him and spent the night at his place. When night came, Abu al-Darda' got up, but Salman made him sit down. Then he said, "O Abu al-Darda', your Lord has a right over you, your family has a right over you, and your body has a right over you. Give each possessor of a right his right: fast and break your fast, pray and sleep, and go to your family." When it was near dawn, he said, "Now get up." They got up and prayed, then went out to the prayer. When the Prophet ﷺ had prayed, Abu al-Darda' went to him and told him what Salman had said. The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him the same as Salman had said.

✧ I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ, and this part of him was white—meaning his lower lip. It was said to him, "What were you like then?" He said, "I would cut arrows and feather them."
