✧ That a man died and left three hundred dirhams and dependents. He said: "I wanted to spend it on his dependents, but the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Your brother is detained by his debt, so pay it off on his behalf.' So he paid it off on his behalf. Then he said: 'O Messenger of God, I have paid it off on his behalf except for a woman who claimed two dinars, and she has no proof.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Give it to her, for she is truthful.'"

✧ 'Abd Allah b. Sa'd used to go out to his companions in Tustar to visit them. He would stay on the day of his arrival and the second day, and leave on the third. They would say to him: "If only you would stay." He would say: "I heard my father say: 'The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade me,' or 'I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ forbid residency in the land of the enemy. Whoever resides in the land of the kharaj has become a resident there, so I dislike to stay.'"
