حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ بَدْرِ بْنِ وَاصِلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْأَطْوَلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَدْرِ بْنِ وَاصِلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْأَطْوَلِ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْأَطْوَلِ، قَالَ:
كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ بِتُسْتَرَ يَزُورُهُمْ، فَيُقِيمُ يَوْمَ دُخُولِهِ، وَالثَّانِي، وَيَخْرُجُ فِي الثَّالِثِ، فَيَقُولُونَ لَهُ: لَوْ أَقَمْتَ، فَيَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، يَقُولُ: نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، أَوْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنِ التِّنَاءَةِ، فَمَنْ أَقَامَ بِبَلَدِ الْخَرَاجِ فَقَدْ تَنَأَ، فَأَنَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُقِيمَ

✧ 'Abd Allah b. Sa'd used to go out to his companions in Tustar to visit them. He would stay on the day of his arrival and the second day, and leave on the third. They would say to him: "If only you would stay." He would say: "I heard my father say: 'The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade me,' or 'I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ forbid residency in the land of the enemy. Whoever resides in the land of the kharaj has become a resident there, so I dislike to stay.'"
