غَزَوْتُ مَعَ أَبِي الصَّائِفَةَ فِي زَمَنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ، وَعَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، فَنَزَلْنَا عَلَى حِصْنِ سِنَانٍ، فَضَيَّقَ النَّاسُ الْمَنَازِلَ، وَقَطَعُوا الطُّرُقَ، فَقَامَ أَبِي فِي النَّاسِ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنِّي غَزَوْتُ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَضَيَّقَ النَّاسُ الْمَنَازِلَ، وَقَطَعُوا الطُّرُقَ، فَبَعَثَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى فِي النَّاسِ: أَنَّ مَنْ ضَيَّقَ مَنْزِلًا، أَوْ قَطَعَ طَرِيقًا فَلَا جِهَادَ لَهُ
✧ I went on the summer expedition with my father during the time of Abd al-Malik b. Marwan, and Abdullah b. Abd al-Malik was over us. We encamped at the fortress of Sinan, and the people cramped the campsites and cut off the roads. My father stood among the people and said: 'O people, I went on such-and-such expedition with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, and the people cramped the campsites and cut off the roads. So the Prophet of Allah ﷺ sent a caller who announced among the people: "Whoever cramps a campsite or cuts off a road, there is no jihad for him."

مَنْ تَرَكَ اللِّبَاسَ وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ تَوَاضُعًا لِلهِ، دَعَاهُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ يُخَيِّرُهُ بَيْنَ حُلَلِ الْإِيمَانِ يَلْبَسُ أَيَّهَا شَاءَ
✧ Whoever gives up wearing fine clothing while able to do so out of humility before Allah, Allah will call him on the Day of Resurrection before all creatures and let him choose whichever of the garments of faith he wishes to wear.

✧ Whoever gives for Allah, withholds for Allah, loves for Allah, hates for Allah, and marries for Allah, has completed his faith.

✧ Whoever fasts a day voluntarily in the path of Allah, outside Ramadan, will be distanced from the Fire by a hundred years' journey of a well-trained, swift horse.

✧ Whoever prays the dawn prayer and then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, Paradise becomes obligatory for him.

مَنْ أَكَلَ طَعَامًا، فَقَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ، وَمَنْ لَبِسَ ثَوْبًا فَقَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ
✧ Whoever eats food and says: 'Praise be to Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any strength or power from me,' his previous sins will be forgiven. And whoever wears a garment and says: 'Praise be to Allah who clothed me with this and provided it for me without any strength or power from me,' his previous sins will be forgiven.

مَنْ قَرَأَ أَلْفَ آيَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، كُتِبَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ النَّبِيِّينَ، وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ، وَالشُّهَدَاءِ، وَالصَّالِحِينَ، وَحَسُنَ أُولَئِكَ رَفِيقًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ
✧ Whoever recites a thousand verses in the way of Allah, will be written on the Day of Resurrection with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and excellent are those as companions, if Allah wills.

مَنْ حَرَسَ وَرَاءَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مُتَطَوِّعًا لَا يَأْخُذُهُ سُلْطَانٌ لَمْ يَرَ النَّارَ بِعَيْنِهِ إِلَّا تَحِلَّةَ الْقَسَمِ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ سُبْحَانَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ يَقُولُ: وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلا وَارِدُهَا
✧ Whoever guards behind the Muslims in the way of Allah voluntarily, not compelled by a ruler, will not see the Fire with his own eye except for the fulfillment of the oath; for indeed Allah, glory be to Him, no partner has He, says: 'And there is none of you but will pass over it.'

مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَمِلَ بِمَا فِيهِ أَلْبَسَ وَالِدَيْهِ تَاجًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، ضَوْءُهُ أَحْسَنُ مِنْ ضَوْءِ الشَّمْسِ فِي بُيُوتِ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا لَوْ كَانَتْ فِيهِ، فَمَا ظَنُّكُمْ بِالَّذِي عَمِلَ بِهِمَا. ؟
✧ Whoever recites the Qur'an and acts upon what is in it, his parents will be clothed with a crown on the Day of Resurrection, whose light is better than the light of the sun in the houses of the people of this world if it were among them. So what do you think of the one who acts upon it himself?

✧ Whoever suppresses anger while he is able to vent it, Allah will call him on the heads of witnesses on the Day of Resurrection and let him choose whichever of the houris he wishes.
