We were speaking about the Farewell Pilgrimage while the Prophet ﷺ was among us, and we did not know what the Farewell Pilgrimage was. He praised Allah and extolled Him, then he mentioned the Dajjal (False Messiah) and spoke at length about him. He said: “Allah did not send any prophet except that he warned his nation; Noah warned of him, and the prophets after him. And he will appear among you. Whatever of his affair may be hidden from you, it will not be hidden from you that your Lord is not such as may be hidden from you.” Then he said three times: “Indeed, your Lord is not one-eyed, and indeed he (the Dajjal) is blind in his right eye, as if his eye were a floating grape.” Then he said: “Indeed, Allah has forbidden for you your blood and your wealth, as sacred as this day of yours, in this land of yours, in this month of yours. Have I conveyed ˹the message˺?” They said: Yes. He said: “O Allah, bear witness,” three times. Then he said: “Woe to you” –or “woe be upon you”– “beware: do not turn after me into disbelievers, striking the necks of one another.”
