حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا نَتَحَدَّثُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِنَا، لَا نَدْرِي مَا حَجَّةُ الْوَدَاعِ، فَحَمِدَ اللهَ - رَسُولُهُ - وَحْدَهُ، وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْمَسِيحَ الدَّجَّالَ فَأَطْنَبَ فِي ذِكْرِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَا بَعَثَ اللهُ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا قَدْ أَنْذَرَهُ أُمَّتَهُ، لَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُ نُوحٌ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ، وَإِنَّهُ يَخْرُجُ فِيكُمْ، وَمَا خَفِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ شَأْنِهِ فَلَا يَخْفَى عَلَيْكُمْ، إِنَّهُ أَعْوَرُ عَيْنِ الْيُمْنَى كَأَنَّهَا عِنَبَةٌ طَافِيَةٌ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا، فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا، فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا، أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَيْلَكُمْ - أَوْ وَيْحَكُمُ - انْظُرُوا لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ

✧ We were talking during the Farewell Pilgrimage, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was among us, and we did not know what the Farewell Pilgrimage was. He praised Allah—His Messenger—alone, and extolled Him, then he mentioned the false messiah and spoke at length about him. Then he said: 'Allah has not sent any prophet except that he warned his nation about him. Noah warned his nation, and the prophets after him. He will emerge among you, and whatever of his condition is unclear to you is not unclear to you. He is blind in the right eye, as if it were a floating grape.' Then he said: 'Indeed, Allah has made your blood and your wealth sacred, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this land of yours, in this month of yours. Have I not conveyed?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'O Allah, bear witness.' Then he said: 'Woe to you—or may you be shown mercy—beware, do not return after me to disbelief, striking one another's necks.'
