machine translationYaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr narrated it from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbās, from ʿUmar. ʿAlī b. al-Mubārak and al-Awzāʿī narrated it from him. There was disagreement about al-Awzāʿī: Shuʿayb b. Isḥāq, al-Walīd b. Muslim, Bishr b. Bakr and Muḥammad b. Muṣʿab said, from al-Awzāʿī, the same as the statement of ʿAlī b. al-Mubārak from Yaḥyā. It was also narrated from Muḥammad b. Ḥarb al-Khawlānī, from al-Awzāʿī, from Yaḥyā, who said "from Abū Salamah, from Ibn ʿAbbās" in place of ʿIkrimah. The preserved (maḥfūẓ) version is the ḥadīth of ʿIkrimah.
