حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَإِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَالِبٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ عَمَّارٌ وَمَعَهُ الْأَشْتَرُ يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ قَالَ: يَا أُمَّهْ، فَقَالَتْ: لَسْتُ لَكَ بِأُمٍّ، قَالَ: بَلَى، وَإِنْ كَرِهْتِ، قَالَتْ: مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ ؟ قَالَ هَذَا الْأَشْتَرُ، قَالَتْ: أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَرَدْتَ قَتْلَ ابْنِ أُخْتِي ؟ قَالَ: قَدْ أَرَدْتُ قَتْلَهُ، وَأَرَادَ قَتْلِي، قَالَتْ: أَمَا لَوْ قَتَلْتَهُ مَا أَفْلَحْتَ أَبَدًا، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: لَا يُحِلُّ دَمَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ إِلَّا إِحْدَى ثَلَاثَةٍ: رَجُلٌ قَتَلَ فَقُتِلَ، أَوْ رَجُلٌ زَنَى بَعْدَمَا أُحْصِنَ، أَوْ رَجُلٌ ارْتَدَّ بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِ.

✧ 'Ammar came with al-Ashtar seeking permission to enter upon 'A'ishah. He said: "O my mother." She said: "I am not a mother to you." He said: "Indeed, even if you dislike it." She said: "Who is this with you?" He said: "This is al-Ashtar." She said: "Are you the one who wanted to kill my nephew?" He said: "I wanted to kill him, and he wanted to kill me." She said: "If you had killed him, you would never have prospered. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The blood of a Muslim man is not lawful except for one of three: a man who killed and is killed, or a man who committed adultery after being married, or a man who apostatized after his Islam.'"
