حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَارَةُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ ثَلَاثَ حَصَيَاتٍ فَوَضَعَ وَاحِدَةً، ثُمَّ وَضَعَ أُخْرَى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَرَمَى بِالثَّالِثَةِ، فَقَالَ: هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ، وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ، وَذَاكَ أَمَلُهُ الَّتِي رَمَى بِهَا
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took three pebbles, placed one, then placed another in front of it and threw the third aside. He said: 'This is the son of Adam, this is his appointed term, and that is his hope which he threw aside.'
