حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ، قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ بِمِنًى عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ هَاهُنَا ؟ قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَمَعَ عُمَرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَمَعَ عُثْمَانَ صَدْرًا مِنْ خِلَافَتِهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، إِذَا صَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُمْ صَلَّيْنَا كَمَا يُصَلُّونَ، وَإِذَا صَلَّيْنَا وَحْدَنَا صَلَّيْنَا

✧ I asked Ibn Umar in Mina about the prayer here. He said, “I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ two rak'ahs, with Abu Bakr two rak'ahs, with Umar two rak'ahs, and with Uthman at the beginning of his caliphate two rak'ahs. When we prayed with them, we prayed as they prayed, and when we prayed alone, we prayed [two rak'ahs as well].”
