حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ عَلِيًّا فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَقَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَمَسَحْنَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ، وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا

✧ I came to Ali and asked him about wiping over the leather socks. He said: “We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ on a journey, and we wiped for three days and their nights, and for the resident, one day.”
