  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationQays b. Rūmī, a Kufan, narrates it from ʿAlqamah from ʿAbdullāh, raising it to the Prophet (marfūʿ). Salīm b. Adhnān also narrated it from ʿAlqamah, and there is disagreement about him: ʿAṭāʾ b. al-Sāʾib raised it from him, while others made it a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). The mawqūf is more correct. Qays b. Rūmī is not known except in this [unclear]

  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationThus it was narrated by Sulaymān b. Yasīr al-Nakhaʿī Abū al-Ṣabāḥ al-Kūfī; al-Bukhārī said: he is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī). It was narrated by al-Ḥakam, Abū Isḥāq, Isrāʾīl and others from Sulaymān b. Adhnān from ʿAlqamah from ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd as his own statement (mawqūf). Dalham b. Ṣāliḥ narrated it from Ḥumayd b. ʿAbdullāh al-Kindī from ʿAlqamah from ʿAbdullāh. Manṣūr narrated it from Ibrāhīm from ʿAlqamah, that he used to say this. It was also narrated by another route from Ibn Masʿūd as raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ), but raising it is weak (ḍaʿīf).
