✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ traveled or went on a military expedition, he would take a man from his companions behind him each day. The one riding behind the Messenger of God ﷺ was Mu'adh b. Jabal. He called him while he was behind him, and said: O Mu'adh b. Jabal. I said: At your service, O Messenger of God. He said: Do you know what is God's right upon the servants? That they testify that there is no god but God, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and that they worship Him, associating nothing with Him. He repeated this hadith three times. Then he called out: O Mu'adh. I said: At your service, O Messenger of God. He said: Do you know what is the servants' right upon God if they do that? I said: God and His Messenger know best. He said: The servants' right upon God, if they do that, is that He not punish them and that He admit them to Paradise.
