حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

أَنَّهُ رَأَى شَيْخًا يُهَادَى بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَذَرَ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ عَنْ تَعْذِيبِ هَذَا نَفْسَهُ لَغَنِيٌّ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَرَكِبَ

Translation

✧ He saw an old man being supported between his two sons. They said: O Messenger of Allah, he vowed to walk. He said: Allah is indeed free of any need for this man to torment himself. Then he ordered him, and he rode.
