حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، نَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، نَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ;

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُهَادَى بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَا لَهُ ؟ قَالُوا: نَذَرَ أَنْ يَحُجَّ مَاشِيًا، قَالَ: مُرُوهُ فَلْيَرْكَبْ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَنْ تَعْذِيبِ نَفْسِهِ غَنِيٌّ

Translation

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ saw a man being supported between two men. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'What is the matter with him?' They said, 'He vowed to walk to the Hajj.' He said, 'Order him to ride, for Allah, Blessed and Exalted, is not in need of his torturing himself.'
