✧ Humayd al-Tawil from Anas b. Malik

حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ، كَانَ يَرْمِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَكَانَ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ فَيَنْظُرُ إِلَى مَوْضِعِ سَهْمِهِ، فَرَفَعَ وَرَفَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، فَرَفَعَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ صَدْرَهُ بِحِيَالِهِ، فَقَالَ: هَكَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، جَعَلَنِي اللهُ فِدَاكَ

Translation

✧ Abu Talhah was shooting arrows in front of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ would raise his head to look at the place where his arrow fell. Abu Talhah raised his chest to shield him and said: Like this, O Messenger of God, may God make me your ransom.
