✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was delivering the Friday sermon, and the people rose to him and shouted, saying: 'O Prophet of God, the rain has failed, the trees have turned red, and the livestock have perished. Supplicate God to send us rain.' He said: 'O God, give us rain; O God, give us rain.' He said: 'By God, we did not see in the sky a wisp of cloud.' Then a cloud rose and spread, and then it rained. The Prophet of God ﷺ came down, prayed, and departed. It did not stop raining until the next Friday. When the Prophet ﷺ stood to deliver the sermon, they shouted to him, saying: 'O Prophet of God, the houses have collapsed and the roads have been cut off. Supplicate God to withhold it from us.' He said: 'O God, around us and not upon us.' He said: 'It cleared away from Madinah and began to rain around it, and not a drop fell in Madinah. I looked at Madinah, and it was like a crown.'
