Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bid farewell to Mudar and said, "So I went to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, indeed Allah has granted you victory and answered your prayers, but your people have perished. So pray to Allah for them.' But he turned away from me. So I said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, indeed Allah has granted you victory and answered your prayers, but your people have perished. So pray to Allah for them.' He said, 'O Allah, send down upon us a rain that is abundant, refreshing, abundant, filling, beneficial, and not harmful.' It was not long before it rained, either on that Friday or around that time, as Shu'bah said in his supplication. I heard it from Habib bin Abi Thabit, from Salim, regarding seeking rain. And in the hadith of Habib or Amr, from Salim, he said, 'I came to you from a people who do not have crops, nor do they have sustenance for their herders.'"
