حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ، فَلَا أَدْرِي أَشَيْءٌ نَزَلَ أَوْ شَيْءٌ كَانَ، يَقُولُ:

لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى أَوْ لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِمَا وَادِيًا ثَالِثًا، وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ، وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

Translation

✧ If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would wish for or seek a third valley, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust, and Allah turns in mercy to whoever repents.
