✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ went out one day for one of his outings, and with him were some of his companions. They went along traveling, and the time for prayer came. The people dismounted but found no water with which to perform ablution. They said: O Messenger of God, we can find nothing with which to perform ablution. He saw reluctance in the faces of his companions. A man from the group went off and brought a cup with a little water. The Prophet ﷺ took it and performed ablution from it, then passed his four fingers over the cup, then said to the people: Come. The people came and performed ablution until they had enough for what they intended of ablution. It was said: How many were the people? He said: Seventy men, or about that.
