حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ نَجِيحٍ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ النَّاجِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:
أَتَى رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أَشْتَهِي الْجِهَادَ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ: هَلْ بَقِيَ مِنْ وَالِدَيْكَ أَحَدٌ ؟ قَالَ: أُمِّي، قَالَ: فَأَبْلِ اللهَ فِي بِرِّهَا، فَإِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ فَأَنْتَ حَاجٌّ، وَمُعْتَمِرٌ، وَمُجَاهِدٌ، فَإِذَا رَضِيَتْ عَنْكَ أُمُّكَ فَاتَّقِ اللهَ وَبَرَّهَا
Translation

✧ A man came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: I desire jihad but I am not able to do it. He said: Do you have any of your parents remaining? He said: My mother. He said: Then strive to please God in being dutiful to her. If you do that, you are a pilgrim, a performer of 'umrah, and a mujahid. When your mother is pleased with you, then fear God and be dutiful to her.
