✧ Najdah wrote to him asking: 'Does the slave have a share of the spoils? Did the women attend the war with the Messenger of God ﷺ? When is a share of the spoils due to a boy? And about the share of the near relatives?' He said: Ibn 'Abbas wrote to him that the slave has no right to the spoils, but he may be given a small amount. And he wrote that the women used to go out with the Prophet ﷺ tending the wounded, and that they were given a small amount. And that there is no right for a boy in the spoils until he reaches puberty. And he wrote to him regarding the share of the near relatives that 'Umar offered us that he would marry our unmarried women from it and pay our debts from it, but we refused that unless he handed it over entirely, and he refused that.
