حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِقْلٌ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ قَالَ: قَالَ عَطَاءٌ: عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَصَابَتْهُ جِرَاحَةٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ فَاسْتَفْتَى، فَأُفْتِيَ بِالْغُسْلِ، فَاغْتَسَلَ فَمَاتَ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: قَتَلُوهُ قَتَلَهُمُ اللهُ، أَفَلَمْ يَكُنْ شِفَاءَ الْعِيِّ السُّؤَالُ ؟. 94 - ( 2421 ) - قَالَ عَطَاءٌ: فَبَلَغَنِي أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: لَوْ غَسَلَ جَسَدَهُ وَتَرَكَ رَأْسَهُ حَيْثُ أَصَابَهُ الْجِرَاحُ أَجْزَأَهُ

✧ A man was wounded in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ and then became junub. He sought a ruling and was told to perform ghusl, so he performed ghusl and died. That reached the Prophet ﷺ and he said: 'They killed him, may God kill them. Was not the cure for ignorance to ask?' 94 - (2421) - 'Ata' said: It reached me that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about that and said: 'Had he washed his body and left his head where the wound had afflicted him, it would have sufficed him.'
